NCI was responsible for providing engineering services, including field surveying, preparation of basemaps, easement preparation, detailed design and construction services for the replacement of approximately 35,400 LF of 12”and 8” water main within the Woodland Hills Subdivision of Harrison Township, Montgomery County, Ohio. NCI coordinated the multi-year design effort with MCES, Harrison Township, Montgomery County Engineer, City of Dayton and home/business owners throughout the project corridor. The project corridor was primarily residential neighborhoods and some industrial businesses. The primary installation method included open-cut trenching. Designing each phase of this multi-year project, NCI was able to ensure alignment continuity both horizontally and vertically; provided successful utility coordination and designed tie-in connections and valve placement that minimized the area cut off from water during construction and will do the same during future repairs. Since the new water main also occupied the roadway, NCI designed our modifications to avoid the existing water main, existing sanitary sewer and storm systems also located within the roadway.
