NCI as a subconsultant was responsible for the design and plan preparation for the rehabilitation of the structure over an abandoned railroad in Miami County, Indiana. The primary objectives of this project were to extend the service life and improve the safety of the bridge crossing. The rehabilitation involved removing the substandard concrete bridge railing, approach railing, approach slabs, and milling the existing concrete deck. A new concrete overlay was then placed along with new INDOT standard bridge railing. The project also milled and resurfaced approximately 160 feet of the mainline pavement and shoulders on each side of the bridge.
