This project involved the survey, base mapping, detailed design and limited construction services for approximately 9,740 ft. of an 8” water main replacement within the limits of Mad River Road between Whipp Road and Rahn Road, Rahn Road between Laureldale Road and just east of Brittney Drive in Washington Township, Ohio. Additional waterline replacements were designed within the Rahn Rustic Hills subdivision along Folkestone Drive, Viewpoint Drive and Lotusdale Drive including other various roadways within the residential subdivision. The primary installation method included open-cut trenching. Minimizing negative impacts to the properties and existing utilities located within the project corridor was a major consideration during design. NCI prepared detailed maintenance of traffic phasing due to the high daily traffic volumes that existed on Mad River Road, a major county arterial roadway. Working through citizenry concerns, NCI designed the replacement main to avoid the removal of existing mature trees along the roadway.
