This project involved concrete road reconstruction of 5.6 miles of I-75 in Monroe County, Michigan, including the reconstruction of two interchanges and two MDOT bridges over waterways. As a subconsultant, NCI work included all hydraulic analysis and design, County drain culvert design (19 locations), median storm sewer design and layout, roadside ditch design, temporary drainage design, stormwater quality treatments (detention/retention), and MDEQ permit application and approval. This project was a pilot for the new MDOT Stormwater Management Plan including detention/retention of increased impervious areas and treatment of the first flush. Part of our design included design of ditches for treatment of stormwater prior to discharge into the County drains.
