NCI was responsible for the survey, design, and plan preparation for the rehabilitation of the structure on S.R. 91 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The primary purpose of this project was to replace the deficient superstructure of the existing single span non-composite prestressed box beam structure crossing over a branch of the Chagrin River. Traffic was maintained on the structure using part-width construction and a signalized closing of one lane of the existing two lane highway. The project involved coordination with local government agencies due to the S.R. 91’s use as a primary thoroughfare for school buses and emergency vehicles, as well as due to the proximity of residential properties.
