Northwest Consultants, Inc. was responsible for the survey, design, and preparation of construction plans for the replacement of a deficient structure and profile improvements on Miller Road in Crawford County, Ohio.

The structure designed was a single span prestressed concrete box beam bridge on stub abutments founded on steel H-piles. A hydraulic study was performed including hydrology calculations, structure hydraulic analysis, and scour analysis. Bridge design included pile foundation design, abutment design, box beam design, and elastomeric bearing design. Total bridge length was 75 feet.

Approach work included pavement section design, guardrail length calculation, drainage design, and channel grading. A 404 Permit was obtained from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Right-of-Way plans were prepared detailing permanent takes and temporary easements needed from 4 owners. NCI assisted the County with the Federal Project Programming with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Total project length was 900 feet.
