NCI was responsible for the survey, preliminary engineering, and final design for the replacement of two bridges on SR-559 in Champaign County, Ohio. The preliminary engineering study involved performing a structure hydraulic analysis, preparing a structure type study, meeting current roadway standards, calculating guardrail length-of-need, determining project limits, and estimating construction costs for both structures. Final design involved completing the construction plans for each bridge. Structure CHP-559-0165 was replaced with a 26’ span 3-sided culvert on spread footings. Structure CHP-559-0691 was replaced with a 3-span concrete slab bridge on spiral curve alignment.
