NCI is excited to welcome not just one, but TWO new engineers to its hard working design team. This summer Catherine McNutt and Maurren Theresia, two outstanding students from the Ohio State University and the University of Michigan, respectively, edged out other highly qualified applicants to join the men and women of NCI in designing and repairing our nations roads, bridges, and critical infrastructure. While they may hail from rival schools, our Buckeye and Wolverine recruits are happy to lay aside their differences to make sure that all roads leading to the Shoe and the Big House are safe and operational for game day!

Maurren Theresia

Design Engineer

Hi, my name is

Maurren Theresia
I earned my degree in Civil Engineering at
Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia
in
2015
and a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering at the
University of Michigan
in
2018

I thought NCI would be a great place to work because

I believed it would be a valuable experience and give me significant opportunity for personal and professional growth.  During the interview, Jon told me that engineers at NCI handle a project from the very beginning until it is built. This appealed to me, as I wanted to learn as much as I could from every project, so that I could be knowledgeable about, and answer any questions which might arise concerning a project. Toledo is also very close to Ann Arbor which was another significant benefit!

The thing I love most about being a

Wolverine
is
The city of Ann Arbor!! Although I only got to live there for two years, the highly diverse campus, and warmth and openness of the residents made me feel welcome, despite being thousands of miles from my native country. On game days, I loved the sense of unity and pride. This strong sense of belonging and comradeship transcends generations of students and alumni and is the best part of having the University of Michigan as my Alma Mater.

In my free time, I enjoy

Watching movies, cooking and swimming.
When I am not busy designing bridges and roads, you will find me
Traveling. I love to explore different cultures, places and foods.
Something you may not know about me is
I have been to 10 different countries and am excited to travel and see many more.
Any last words?
GO BLUE!! Or better yet, “GO BLUE” for NCI!

Catherine McNutt

Design Engineer

Hi, my name is

Catherine McNutt
I earned my degree in Civil Engineering at
The Ohio State University
in
2018

I thought NCI would be a great place to work because

During the interview process, the people I spoke to were really welcoming and I could see myself as part of their team. I also really liked the idea of working with bridges.

The thing I love most about being a

Buckeye
is
Athletics. I really enjoyed the sporting events at OSU – not only my own competitions as part of the rowing team, but being able to watch other teams compete. My favorite ones to watch were the gymnastics and synchronized swimming competitions.

In my free time, I enjoy

Spending time at the park with my dog Benny (who I adopted from the shelter the day I graduated from OSU).
When I am not busy designing bridges and roads, you will find me
Playing ultimate frisbee.
Something you may not know about me is
I have an identical twin.
Any last words?
Go Bucks!
